Cyrena Summers

Cyrena was born in this area and has lived here except for a brief time in Boston. She studied at Boston University and Harper College (now Binghamton University) with Ed Wilson, Robert Marx, Charles Eldred, and Angelo Ippolito.  After teaching elementary school art and retiring, she did bronze casting with Jim Stark.

Her favorite subjects usually involve people; portraits, the figure.  The bronze relief of Helen Foley at Helen Foley Theatter in Binghamton Central High School Auditorium is her work.

Currently she maintains a studio at Avenue Antiques on Washington Avenue in Endicott where some of her work may be seen.
