Joy spends quality time in one of  her studios-  she has a en plein aire group that draws or paints in different locations, several times a month- returning to her studio with a variety of studies and usually with alla prima painting. She has also spent years going to life sessions. Using a wide range of mediums, usually employing either oil or graphite, to explore color and contrast in a world where many people miss the opportunity to see the mysteries and magic all around us.

Joy has received Honorable Mention for watercolors & oils with 2nd place in Oil. She has the honor of having her paintings in private collections on both coasts. Most of her art has been in exhibitions in the local area.
